Accessibility Statement

A quick summary of how we make our services accessible.

  • We design to WCAG 2.2 AA, test key user journeys, and review accessibility in every sprint.
  • Known issues are listed below and we welcome reports of anything else you spot.
  • Alternative formats such as Braille, large print, or BSL are available on request.

Our commitment

We want everyone in the armed forces community to be able to use squaddies.com. Our team follows WCAG 2.2 AA guidance, tests key user journeys with assistive technology, and trains content editors to write in plain language. Accessibility is part of every sprint review and release checklist.

Known limitations

We are actively improving the site and are aware of the following issues:

  • Hero images on some campaign pages load after the main content, which may briefly push headings down the page.
  • Embedded videos from partners may not include audio descriptions; we link to transcripts when available.
  • Legacy PDF downloads are not yet fully tagged for screen readers, though we can supply accessible versions on request.

If you notice an accessibility problem that is not listed here, please let us know so we can prioritise a fix.

Requesting information in a different format

You can email hello@squaddies.com or use our contact form to ask for content in Braille, large print, British Sign Language, or another accessible format. We aim to respond within two working days and will confirm when you can expect the alternative version.
